The Rooms

The Patio:
Is a large, open-air expanse, which sits on the banks of the New River and hosts a memorable view of the water and the local boat traffic. The patio sits on a floor of “old Chicago brick”, from the years 1903 and 1904.The Patio will seat 75 guests.

The Porch:
Overlooks the patio, the New River and the Riverwalk. It is on the old, original, wooden-floored porch, but is enclosed and air-conditioned. It has however, been fitted with windows that flip up under the awnings, which enable our guests to enjoy the open-air during those wonderful south Florida fall and winter months. The porch will seat 52 guests.

The Inner Rooms:
Are 4 rooms of almost identical size. They each seat a maximum of 24 guests. The two rooms on the east side of the stairway[that leads to the 2nd floor], have working fireplaces. Upstairs is BOYS room, downstairs is CAMILLES{named after the matriarch of the Bryan family].On the west side of the stairway upstairs, is BARBARA ESTELLE [named after Reed’s wife] and downstairs is REED’S.

The Balcony:
Is a long, narrow area that seats a maximum of 52 guests. There is one long continuous window that affords our guests a breathtaking view of the bend in the New River, as well as panoramic views of the riverwalk area, our newly constructed 110’ boat dock and all the boat traffic to and from the Atlantic Ocean. The balcony is permanently enclosed.

Jacks Room:
Upstairs and on the east side of the facility, are 3 small rooms that we call THE PRIVATES. The smallest room, seating a maximum of only 6 guests, is called JACKS. It is the room most requested for reservations in the restaurant, because of it’s intimacy and it’s view.

Tom's Room:
On the east side of the stairway connecting the two floors, seats a maximum of 12 people. It has a long, antique table with very ornate, hand-carved moldings around the edges of the table-top. Twelve matching chairs complete this elegant and charming space.

Perry's Room:
The mirror image of TOM’S. It sits on the west side of the stairway and has been appointed with the other half of this identical set of 12 matching chairs and a long, antique table.

Veranda:
Areas just outside the bar. THE Veranda wraps around the side of the building. It faces the gazebo and gardens, our garden patio, the riverwalk and the New River. It is outside, but set back and protected by the overhang of the roof. This is another very popular spot for dining and drinking.

Bar Area:
As you enter the home through the veranda doors, you'll find just the right place to sit back and relax. The Parlor , which is an area with a fireplace, couches and oversized chairs. Another area adjacent to the bar is called The Sun Room. This is our live entertainment room. We have a baby grand piano, which is set to accommodate those guests who like to be up close. The Sunroom is arranged with several high-top tables and bar stools. This room will seat from 30-40 guests. It is extremely popular on thursday, friday & saturday nights, when we are proud to feature a duo of hugely talented entertainers that go by the name of "Mark & Blake".

Garden Patio:
Also sits on a floor of turn-of-the-century “old Chicago brick”. This area is right next to the Riverwalk and sits on the banks of the New River. It provides yet another incredible vantage point for people and boat watching, while enjoying our renown food, beverage and world-class ambience.

2004 was recognized as the centennial year of The River House, by the city of Fort Lauderdale.
